Preparing Your Property's Garden For Sale
Now that summer is finally here, it’s time to get out the lawnmower, prune the rose bushes and dust off the patio set! If your garden is overgrown, full of weeds, messy, etc., it could give the impression that it is difficult to keep up to.
If you are looking to sell your property, this is the time to get your garden looking in tip top shape for professional photos to be taken and for viewings. You need to show off how appealing your garden/outside area is so that potential buyers can get an idea of what kind of outdoor living they can inherit from you. Kerb appeal is also important as we all know that first impressions count.
If you have lawns (and the weather is dry enough) cut your grass and trim the borders so it shows that you care for and look after your garden.
Gardens, large or small, always tend to accrue items and objects of all shapes and sizes over the years. It’s time for these to be shifted out of view (maybe housed in the garden shed or garage). Not everything needs to be cleared away; a nice, smart swing set or some clean garden furniture can enhance the picture to show what can be done with the space in the garden for example.
Plants and flowers can also liven up an otherwise boring garden space. There’s no need to splash out on lots and lots of flowers and plants, just a few, well placed planters can make a world of difference and add some much needed colour to an otherwise plain looking garden. If you have hanging baskets, make sure these are in full bloom; otherwise they can be off-putting if they are devoid of any sort of life or colour!
Staging is also a good idea as you want to show people how the space in your garden can be used. If you have a patio set that has been left outside since last summer, get it washed down and looking pristine. If it has a parasol, put that up too. Maybe an outdoor dining set placed on the table if you have one to hand.
